Life’s What you Make it, so Let’s Make it Rock

I found it only appropriate to begin my post with some Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana lyrics. A few weeks ago, some friends had a surprise party where we had goldfish races. My fishy’s name was Miley Cyrus (I say was, b/c I’m not sure of her current whereabouts) and she ROCKED it. I wish I took some pictures, but I was way too into the race to think about it. No, Miley and I didn’t win, but we were finalists! You may be wondering how a goldfish race works. Check out this video my friend posted on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10100369214503149 Awesome, right?

Also that same weekend was my friend Danny’s birthday. He spent two years in the Dominican Republic on a mission for my church and is in love with the food and culture, so a group of friends came over to his house and made him a Dominican feast! Speaking that none of us have ever been to the Dominican Republic, I think we did a pretty good job.

Last week, I went to my very first fashion show. It was awesome. My friend Amanda is in design school at The Art Institute of Seattle and they put this on with Neiman Marcus to show off the clothing lines they created. Saying I was impressed is an understatement. The clothes these students made were extremely high quality, innovative and all-around amazing. I took pictures and video on my iPhone…all of which are horrible, but here are some pictures. Just know they don't do it justice.

Most importantly, my littlest sister Leah turned 11 earlier this month! She's a doll and I love her so much. For her birthday this year, she had a sleepover with a bunch of friends and then we took them all to the mall the next day. Having eight 11 year olds together for almost 24 hours is a little crazy--especially when you involve the mall. :)

Cutie.

At one point, I got attacked with tissue paper and ribbons.

Why I Decided to go to the “Dark Side”

I’ve been toying with the idea of going to the dark side for some time now.

Yes, I’m referring to the dark side as owning a Mac. Well, at least, that’s how my dad views it. Ever since I bought my computer last week, he’s been saying things like: “Oh sorry, you’re not my daughter, you’re a MAC user” or “My stock prices are going down just looking at you!” He’s kidding, of course…well half kidding…

Don’t get me wrong, I love Microsoft and it’s been a fun run, but after loving my iPhone so much, I had to make a hard (and expensive) choice. Do I want my computer to keep crashing? Do I want my battery to fall out every time I pick up my computer (disclaimer: this doesn’t happen on all PC laptops, but it happens on my old HP)? Do I want to have the uncool stigma of being a PC owner (Face it—it’s true)? No!

This may seem like a hypocritical move. I’ve stood by the PC and said that it was dumb to buy a Mac because it’s not compatible and PCs have the greatest marketshare and are more sensible…blah, blah, blah…I’m sure you’ve heard my speech.

While PCs are great for some things and for some people, I think I’m a Mac girl. I feel really rebellious saying that, which is ridiculous, but the honest truth of the matter.

Bottom line is: I am now the proud owner of an 11in Macbook Air.

Plus, according to my owner’s manual, we were made for each other. Who can argue with that?

30 Day Challenge: Day 30

Today is the last day of my 30 Day Blog Challenge—thanks for following along! It’s been really fun.

Day 30: Hopes for my Future

I have many hopes for the future—I want to live a long and happy life full of love, happiness, friendship, family and success.

I hope that I continue to become a better person—be more patient, more kind and less judgmental.

I hope to continue to learn and grow—maybe by going back to school or maybe by continuing to excel in my current career path.

But mainly, I hope to one day be married to the man of my dreams and to have a family of my own that I can love and raise.

I hope to be as good of a mother and role model as my mom is to me.

I hope that I can make an impact on my future family’s lives and in the lives of everyone I meet.

30 Day Challenge: Day 28

Day 28: A Picture of My Home

I couldn't find a picture of my parent's house, so I had to get one from Google Maps. It's pretty old though, speaking that we no longer own the car that's in the driveway...

And this is a picture of the home I currently live in...

It's a different color now (not in a good way), but I like to remember it like this.

30 Day Challenge: Day 27

Day 27: A Piece of Artwork I Made

I am not, by any means, an artist. I love creating things, but I can't even draw a straight line. However, in high school, I used to be a little bit better. Here are two pieces of art I made in an art class I took my senior year.
